Upon arriving in the Sedona area owner Bruce Gregory by chance came upon a little kennel and home sitting on a hill with a spectacular view of Mingus Mountain. Though not looking for a kennel, as the saying goes, it was just meant to be. Things just seemed to fall into place and after only a little over a year the little kennel on the hill has become a friend and home away from home to hundreds of happy pets and their owners. To coin a phrase from one of our customers, we provide guilt free boarding.

Owner Bruce Gregory brings to the kennel over 25 years of experience in owning and operating three pet care facilities on the east coast, Training and handling working drug enforcement canines and has even been involved with the handling and care of large cats in the state of Florida.
His over 27 years of experience working closely with many veterinarians and pet care professionals through out the country and reputation as a top Breeder of Champion Doberman Pinchers have earned him recognition and respect amongst pet care professionals from coast to coast.

The Applewood Kennels manager Kelly Thomas brings to the kennel environment, the experience of being raised on a farm in Alaska and the motherly touch of having three young children of her own.

Unlike all other kennels in the Verde Valley,
Bruce, his manager Kelly Thomas and her husband Peter and three children Ezra, Zoe and Cloe all reside on the property. This situation like the perfect storm, lends to the perfect ingredients for the care of your pets. Three knowledgeable responsible adults actively taking part in the care, health, nutrition, and environment of your pet.
